Isuzu Rodeo Problems

The 1990's saw the styles of only a few sport utility vehicles compared to today's massive collection by several manufacturers. In fact, before the 1990's, very few existed at all. Those that were in being during these times were created to provide high performance, durability, rugged terrain control, and a massive body style that presented the uses of the vehicles.

two pioneers during these early times were from Isuzu and Jeep including the Isuzu Rodeo and the Jeep Cherokee. They were 2 different vehicles, with some similarities, and with engines that defined their differences quite well. The Early Sport Utility VehiclesThe Isuzu Rodeo and the Jeep Cherokee were definitely forerunners of their time. They demonstrated reliable and practical vehicles within the sport utility class, offering some of the great features of a heavy duty vehicle, with logical elements that were ideal for daily use.

The Isuzu Rodeo was first seen during the 90's, and quickly became a best-seller within its class of SUV's. The used Isuzu locomotive is still a popular choice for car enthusiasts. The Rodeo was a more logical and reasonable choice for sport utility packaging from the available SUV's of the time, offering a more practical design and an Isuzu engine perfect for daily use. The Jeep Cherokee, on the other hand, was first seen in '84, resembling a "junior jeep" by sport utility vehicle standards of size and style.

The Jeep Cherokee engine was lighter duty than most SUV's and Jeep models, also featuring a 70's style frame and wagon-like design. Evolving with SuccessBoth the Isuzu Rodeo and the Jeep Cherokee were very popular sport utility vehicles during their production runs, which were quite long and successful. Both vehicles evolved over time, bringing the Isuzu engine and the Jeep Cherokee locomotive to a more sophisticated and gas efficient level for the times of the vehicles. The most recent used Isuzu locomotive featured a standard 2.2L inline-4 model that offered 129hp and 144lb/ft of torque attached to a 5-speed manual transmission.

There was also a 3.2L V6 with 205hp and 214lb/ft of torque offered with a manual or even a four-speed automatic. The Jeep Cherokee engine offered was a 2.5L inline-4 offering only 105hp, or the 2.8L V5 only offering 114hp. The Isuzu used locomotive could be found even offering 120hp with the 3.1L V6 and the 2.6L inline-4, but quickly upgraded to 175hp in 1993, greatly surpassing the Jeep Cherokee. The Isuzu Rodeo was a high performing small sport utility vehicle that offered much better power and performance than the Jeep Cherokee.

Many Isuzu used locomotive parts can be found for repairing the older SUV's for those who are still enamored by the drive it provides. There are also engines that can be found to keep the much later Jeep Cherokee alive, even for the oldest versions of the Cherokee, and the Isuzu as well. Finding these parts can be done online and within many used auto parts traders, allowing the Isuzu Rodeo and Cherokee lovers to continue to keep their small package SUV's going through the years.
